Questions about official Chippewa County criminal records belong with the government office that created or keeps the file. The Sheriff handles agency, booking, jail, and related county records. District and Circuit Court clerks maintain their own case documents. Michigan State Police provides statewide criminal-history channels. This private reference cannot retrieve or change those records. The contacts below route a request to the proper office in Sault Ste. Marie or to the correct Michigan agency, based on whether the reader needs a court case, police record, custody detail, or state history.

This Is Not a Government Office. Chippewa County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with Chippewa County, a Michigan court, law enforcement, or any state agency. We cannot obtain an official file, conduct a government criminal-history check, correct or remove a record, or receive a Michigan set-aside filing. The responsible public office must handle each of those tasks.

Need an Official Record?

Choose the record holder before making a request. A court case file, an officer’s report, a booking entry, and an MSP criminal-history response are separate products. These routes cover the records most often requested in Chippewa County:

  • Police and incident reports: ask the law-enforcement agency that created the report
  • Arrest, booking, jail, and Sheriff records: use the Chippewa County Sheriff’s business office or corrections line
  • Court files: review the Chippewa County court case lookup process, then contact the clerk that heard that stage
  • Michigan criminal-history records: use the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center and ICHAT
  • Fingerprint-based personal record review: follow the Michigan State Police RI-008 process through an authorized fingerprint channel
  • Set-aside matters: file through the Michigan court of conviction under the current court procedure
